Scent Gent
What’s going on world? It’s your favorite Scent Gent, Derek Ford, and every month I will be highlighting a different fragrance that I strongly consider adding to your current wardrobe collection. Let’s be honest, Gentlemen, smelling good is just as important to your image as looking good. Am I right? Well, let’s get to it then!
This month’s scent is one of the newest releases from Tom Ford, Ombre Leather. Now, this particular fragrance was originally released back in 2016 as part of TF’s Private Blend collection but was quickly removed. I remember smelling it at Neiman Marcus in Lenox Mall back at the time when it was originally released and was disappointed to see it removed from the collection a few months later. Fortunately, the good folks over at TF were cool enough to bring it back just in time for the fall/winter season. I shit you not Gentlemen, this cologne smells like you just slipped on a brand-new lambskin leather jacket for the first time and then some! It screams leather, leather, leather with a light creamy animalistic vibe that only Tom Ford can produce.
Now, if you’re at all familiar with TF’s Tuscan Leather from his private blend collection, you’ll pretty much feel like this is a younger and lighter version of that fragrance. For those of you Gents who fear that this one might be on the fence of unisex, believe me when I tell you, it DEFINITELY leans masculine. Pair it with a t-shirt, nice pair of jeans, boots, and a leather jacket for those cooler fall evenings and you’re good to go.
Pick it up at your nearest retailer for $125/50ml or $175/100ml.
